A Relative provider is a provider who cares for related children and is unregulated or unlicensed. CCIS can help parents who choose a relative provider to pay for this care, as well those interested in becoming a provider for one of your relatives. CCIS can only help pay for child care for specific relationships, please contact your local CCIS Office for additional information.
Provider Self Service (PSS)
New and existing Child Care Providers can now access Provider Self Services (PSS) to apply for or renew child care licensing, submit online attendance invoices, update provider profiles, and more.
List Your Child Care Facility on COMPASS
All licensed child care providers can list their facility through DPW’s COMPASS Website. Parents use COMPASS to search for child care in their area based on their needs, providing the best way to be discovered by parents searching for licensed child care.
The Keystone STARS Program is an initiative by DPW to enhance the quality of child care in Pennsylvania. Keystone STARS is a voluntary program where participating child care centers work to achieve a star rating, ranging from one to four stars, based on meeting certain quality criteria. Each star-rated center uses qualified teachers, age appropriate curriculum and learning environments, and forms partnerships with both the family and the community to earn their star rating.
The DPW website offers many links to Training Opportunities and organizations that can help you and your staff.
