Child Care Information Services (CCIS) of JMSU is a state and federally funded agency that serves the Juniata, Mifflin, Snyder and Union County areas.

CCIS manages the money that helps families in these counties pay for child care costs incurred when parents are employed and/or in training.

CCIS also provides comprehensive child care information and resource and referral services to all parents who inquire, regardless of income.

The CCIS office will:

  1. Assist families who need help paying for childcare.
  2. Address childcare needs and questions.
  3. Connect families with services and programs in their community.
  4. Provide parent education on quality childcare and child development.

Profiles of registered and licensed child care centers and homes are available. Each CCIS office is a resource library for parents and child care providers.

The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare’s Child Care Provider Search webpage is another good source of information.
